Na Adjectives#
Na adjectives are basically the same as nouns, so they are easy to learn. The conjugation rules for na adjectives are the same as for nouns, the main difference being that when using a na adjective to modify a noun, you need to add "な" in between (hence the name "na adjective").
Examples:
- 静かな人。
- 綺麗な人。
- 友達は親切な人だ。
Conjugation of Na Adjectives is the Same as Nouns#
adj + だ/じゃない/だった/じゃなかった
Examples:
- 愛じゃん は 魚 が 好き だ。
- 愛じゃん は 魚 が 好き じゃない。
- 愛じゃん は 魚 が 好き だった。
- 愛じゃん は 魚 が 好き じゃなかった。
"Suki" means "like" and is an adjective, not a verb in Japanese. It is closer in meaning to "likable". So the sentence should be:
XX は OO が好き -->OO is likable to XX.
The particle "が" indicates the object.
Adjective Modifying Nouns#
- 魚 が 好きな 人。
- 魚 が 好きじゃない 人。
- 魚 が 好きだった 人。
- 魚 が 好きじゃなかった 人。
"魚が好きな" is a clause modifying "人".
The modified noun can be further used in a new sentence:
魚が好きじゃない人は、肉が好きじゃない。
魚が好きな人は、肉が好きだ。
